COVID PHASE 3 PLAN

The Restaurant will be limited to 50 seats as per Municipal Emergency Restrictions.

The following is an internal document that has been circulated to our entire staff and will be diligently enforced until further notice.

We feel that our guidelines go over and above the Municipal guidelines and we’ll absolutely try our best to keep our staff and customers safe and well fed.

We can’t wait to see you!

Welcome back!

It’s been a long time coming, and now we are ready to welcome our customers back to The Lakeview.

There are several changes that are required by law for us to undertake in order to ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff.  The following requirements for you personally as a server/back of house staff are as follows

* You must be healthy before entering the restaurant.  If you are experiencing fever, cough, body aches, or any symptoms of illness, you must call the MOD and inform them as soon as possible that you will not be able to work.  You must receive a negative test result for COVID-19 before re-entering the work place.

* If your job does not allow for a 2 meter distance while working with other staff or customers , you must wear a protective mask.

In addition to your personal responsibility for your health and safety, there are also a series of protocols for customers to follow upon entering the restaurant.

* Hand Sanitizer : There will be a hand sanitation dispenser at the front of the restaurant.  Each customer must sanitize their hands upon entering.

* Temperature check: each customer will have their temperature checked upon entering

* Face mask when moving throughout the restaurant : Each customer will be required to wear a mask when not seated at a table.  If a customer does not have a mask, one will be provided at no cost for use during their visit to the Lakeview

* Maintain physical distancing by keeping customers and staff at least two metres (six feet) apart.  It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure safe physical distance is maintained at all times.  If you see this rule being broken, please remind individuals of its importance and inform your manager if the problem persists.

* Frequent cleaning and disinfection of all contaminated surfaces:  All staff must be extra vigilant in cleaning and sanitizing all contact surfaces between seatings.  That includes, tables, menus, hand held devices  and seats.

* Keep logs of the name and contact info for all customers with a check in time: When initially ringing in the order, a name, phone number and email address must also be logged.  Tables will be given a sheet at the door after temperature is taken that can be filled out by the party leader for the server upon seating.  This information is being gathered so that in the event of an outbreak, contact tracing can be more efficiently gathered by health officials.  It is essential that every table has a contact person.

* Bathrooms :  There will be a sanitizing station located outside of the bathrooms.  Upon using the rest rooms, a customer must first use hand sanitizer before entering.  We ask that customers resanitize their hands upon leaving the facilities.  Also remind customers  before using the restroom, that they must wear masks when moving throughout the restaurant

* Back door exit:  In order to prevent close contact at the front of the restaurant, all customers will be asked to exit through the door located beside the guest bathrooms.  Directional arrows will help guide them back to Dundas West

* Payment :  We will still accept cash, but expect most customers will probably use card payment.  If a customer chooses to pay with cash, ensure you thoroughly wash your hands following the touching of any currency.  Remember to also disinfect the hand held device following every payment

* Cash outs:  wash your hands before starting your cash out.  Please also help to keep our staff area disinfected by wiping down the desk area following your cash out.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep staff and customers safe.  If you have any suggestions that you think will further ensure the smooth operation and safety of our service, please let us know.  We look forward to a safe and positive working environment for everyone.
